Alex Vecchietti – Blessed Review

Best Indie Music Cover alex vecchietti

Blessed is Alex Vecchietti’s third solo album and 8th studio album and his experience as a musician and a producer certainly show in his craft.

Released via Retro Reverb Records, the album counts different amazing collaborations with triple R artists such as Kosmic Kiss (which we also had the honor to collaborate with in our album “Beyond The Emotions), Daniel Hugh, and Your Friend Esteves, and aims at being a tribute to friendship, musical comradery, international collaboration, and peace.

The artist’s desire to have people recognize that collaboration brings the best results really shows in his work and feels like a message much wider than it seems, not restricted to just “music“, but valid in every aspect of our lives.

Blessed - Luca's Take

As per the style of the tracks, Alex’s love for rock and guitars really shines as he blended classic retro synth sounds with these beloved elements, adding grit and energy to the usual, more mellow, synth-based style.

I’ll have to say that in the past I might have been doubtful about such a mix, but after listening to and reviewing the amazing “Here Be Dragons” by Blue Nagoon, I now know that such a blend of styles is to be welcomed with open arms.

Blessed is made up of 8 tracks aiming at providing good, energetic, and nostalgic vibes, all while showing huge appreciation towards everything Alex feels blessed for in his life: music, love, family, and friends and I loved the positive energy that it brought in the scene.

In between many amazing tracks, one specific song managed to catch my ears in a pretty huge way.

Art Can Be More” it’s our tagline and motto, a reminder that art can and should be more than simple entertainment, that it should be used to tackle social issues, help people change perspective, and bring a positive change to the world.

As such it’s no wonder that “On The Flesh“‘s lyrics instantly watched my ears and never let them go.

On The Flesh is a very direct song that talks about what is ruining us: mass manipulation, hate, and social media, all while encouraging the listener to revert him/herself to a better time.

These are the kind of songs that should go mainstream and impact the lives of everyone.

Something that will probably never happen, as governments and big corporations are definitely interested in keeping up the manipulation of people to control/exploit them better.

Blessed - Alex's Take

This album is full of energy, like a continuous revolution between accumulated and repressed feelings and thoughts, finally finding the best way to be heard.

It has a very engaging rhythm which leads you to move to it and perceive the power of the singing in almost all of the songs.

Conclusions

Blessed is a powerful album, created with the sole purpose of bringing positive energy to its listeners, while also gifting messages of both criticisms towards the decadence of our modern society and hope about the fact that there’s still much to feel blessed for.

Not to mention the one truth above all: that by sticking together we can achieve almost anything.

If you’re into high energy, hopeful messages and can take some criticism on what is actually hurting you, even tho you consider it to be “normal”, then this album will be an amazing addition to your collection!

Give it a listen in the Spotify box below and, should you like it, make it yours on Bandcamp!
