Feather – Eternal

Best Indie Music Cover Feather Eternal

Feather is the stage name of Anthony Stinson, a guitarist who has been playing for 15 years and currently resides in France

Eternal is his second album, released four years after his first. According to the artist, this was the time it took to find a style that he could truly feel as his own and not anyone else’s.

Feather says that this album includes a mix of genres, including synthwave, darkwave, progressive metal, rock, film music, and video game music.

We will explore all the aspects of this magnificent creation in more detail in the rest of the review!

Luca's Take

An album that really caught me by surprise.

Alex was the first to listen to it and she only told me, “it’s really beautiful,” but when it was my turn to listen, I found myself immersed in a world of musical nostalgia that I couldn’t have described.

The years spent listening to metal music, combined with the energy of film soundtracks and, for some tracks, even more “synth” elements that are part of my daily creative life.

An album that, in my opinion, is so well-suited to cinema that it should inspire the creation of some film that can complement it visually.

Percussions with an organic, almost live taste, combined with a clean, professional studio production, with memorable guitar solos worthy of the great concerts of the past.

Listen to it. Listen to it, it’s worth it.

Luca's Favourite Track

My favorite track on the album is “M.I.R.O.R.S.“, featuring Lucas De La Rosa.

To be honest, it was a toss-up between this and “Eternal”, but in the end, the quality of the guitar within this track won out.

The only word to adequately describe this track is “epic”. A constant build-up of tension created by the rising key that, combined with the power of the guitar and the performance, creates an experience so powerful it is off the charts.

Certainly one of the most beautiful tracks I have heard this year.

Alex's Take

Personally, I love metal combined with other styles, so when I started listening to ETERNAL, I was immediately won over.

In this album, the cosmic/ambient melodies stimulate the imagination and create an escapist atmosphere through multiple sonic dimensions.

Although the melodies connect the emotional and imaginative side, the electric guitar and drums are the instruments that make listening spectacular, making every track pulse with energy. I love the rhythm of the guitar, very intense and powerful, adding depth to the listening experience.

The drums provide a solid and aggressive support that amplifies the energy and intensity of the guitar, creating the perfect balance between power and precision.

I would say that this album is a “shapeshifting” metal masterpiece, thanks to the variety and complexity of the structural notes and instruments used in each song, keeping the sonic experience always responsive, capturing the ear and imagination.

Alex favourite track

My favorite track is “BLOOD IS HEAT”. The dark and ambient side of the melodies create an ethereal vision that adds a touch of melancholy and mystery.

I’ve listened to it 10 times in a row and I’m still amazed at how the guitar is used to express emotion and power, moving from intense, energetic moments to calmer, more ethereal moments, and how the drums are played, supporting the guitar notes, gradually adding tension before releasing it all in an explosion of energy.

Conclusion

Feather Eternal Cover Art

Eternal, by Feather, is an album whose quality is hard to describe in words, if not with the simple term “epic”. It has to be experienced personally. Our advice is to do it as soon as possible.
